Where the work begins
Hilda Gan supported her nursing studies by working in Toronto General Hospital's relief pool. After graduating in 1975, she chose intensive care, later teaching ICU nurses in Calgary and moving into management. At Scarborough Hospital, she led critical care and helped introduce computerized patient information systems in the early 1990s.

A U of T master's degree in health administration preceded her move into engineering. Gan and her husband grew iTRANS Consulting from two employees to more than 100 across seven Canadian offices. She now leads People Bright Consulting, where her REVUP framework draws on values she associates with nursing. She also hosts a podcast about leadership.
