Where the work begins
Megan Ni began her studies in medicine and biochemistry in China. When she decided to change direction, U of T Mississauga's Master of Management and Professional Accounting program offered a route for someone without a business degree. Its co-op structure and alumni network helped her prepare for work in Canada.

A course in tax opened a field she had not considered. After graduating in 2011, Ni worked across several provinces, gaining experience in compliance, reorganizations and mergers and acquisitions. She now specializes in owner-manager business tax. Alongside her practice, she teaches, contributes to tax literature and serves on a local university board, while continuing to study how technology may change the profession.
