The longtime music teacher founded Dreams Come True Music Studio in 2018 for people of all ages and abilities and is a 2026 Wall of Fame inductee.
Allison O’Connor taught music for more than 30 years, and her approach was to bring whole school communities in, with staff choirs and school productions open to students of every age and ability. She is a 2026 inductee to the music Alumni Wall of Fame, to be honoured at the Alumni Awards Celebration during Homecoming on September 26.
In 2018 she founded Dreams Come True Music Studio, an inclusive studio for people of all ages and abilities. It presents two musical theatre productions and a summer showcase each year, and has performed at the Forest City Film Festival and sung the national anthem for the London Knights, FC London and Special Olympics London.
Her teaching has drawn the TVDSB Award of Distinction (2005), the Coaching to Inclusion Award (2019) and the Tyler Connolly Family Award from Community Living London (2020). A music award in her name is given each year at Bonaventure Meadows Public School. The studio was also the subject of Dr. Caroline Blumer’s 2023 doctoral dissertation at Western.
