A new residence makes room for the next cohort

Waterloo’s planned New Residence Building makes future housing concrete: 510 residents, shared lounges and several room types.

The New Residence Building is planned to open in 2027. The official housing page describes a mix of traditional and suite-style rooms, shared spaces and a community centre.

The useful detail is the room plan. A future building becomes legible when students can picture where they sleep, study, cook, meet and return after a long day.
