Gan began her career as an ICU nurse, later teaching in the ICU at Foothills Hospital in Calgary, then serving as Director of Critical Care and Director of Patient Care Systems at the Scarborough Hospital, where she led the rollout of computerized information systems in the early 1990s. She was an early member and president of the Ontario Nursing Informatics Group.
After earning her MHSc in 1996, she joined her husband in growing the engineering firm iTRANS Consulting from two employees to more than 100 across seven Canadian offices — a company that twice ranked in the Top 10 of Canada's Best Workplaces.
Gan now leads People Bright Consulting Inc. as President and Chief People Officer, built around the REVUP framework she created: Respect, Equality, Valued, Uniqueness and Potential. “REVUP is simply who I am at my core,” she says — and she shares it weekly on the REVUP your Leadership Podcast.
