On August 26, October’s Very Own (OVO), the label founded by Canadian rapper Drake, revealed a clothing collection in collaboration with the University of Waterloo and five other Canadian universities. It went on sale August 28 at OVO’s GTA stores and online, and the W Store in South Campus Hall began stocking items on September 8.

The OVO x UW black and gold line has a tee shirt, hoodie, quarter-zip sweater, coaches jacket and baseball cap, priced from $68.00 to $198.00 CAD. Everything except the coaches jacket sold out on OVO’s website within hours.

Shawn Gilbertson, interim director of UW’s Print + Retail Solutions, told Imprint the collection lets the brand show up in new spaces and answers student interest and feedback. OVO has also worked with York University and the University of Toronto. This is earlier context, since the collection launched in late August.
