The research reputation keeps moving

U of T places fourth globally in the NTU ranking, a snapshot of research performance rather than a complete university portrait.

U of T placed fourth globally and second among public universities in the 2026 NTU World University Rankings. The result is built from research indicators, not from a single measure of campus life.

Rankings are useful when treated as a lens. They show one kind of institutional reach; they do not replace the slower work of teaching, mentoring, building and making a university feel like a place.
