Fritz trained as a periodontist at U of T, earning a DDS in 1997 and a PhD in 2003, before stepping outside clinical practice to pursue additional degrees in business, law and innovation.
His new Lectureship in AI Enhanced Dentistry brings speakers from outside dentistry — law, finance, logistics and public health — into the Faculty of Dentistry, reflecting his own winding path through multiple fields.
Fritz describes the lectureship as a way to keep dentistry in conversation with how AI is reshaping other professions, a jungle gym he's still climbing.
