Ni chose the MMPA program for its openness to students without accounting or business degrees, and for its co-op structure. It was a single course, taught by a professor she found inspiring, that turned her toward tax.
She went on to work in multiple provinces across Canada in compliance, reorganization planning and mergers and acquisitions before specializing in owner-manager business tax. She now contributes to tax literature, teaches courses and serves on the board of a local university.
Ni hopes to inspire her own daughters with her path. “I would tell them to believe in themselves, be brave, and dare to try,” she says.
